Looks like we're in for some rain...

It's looking like rain here this morning, although
I can here the bugs and birds calling out to one another.
Maybe later the free water will fall. Our garden is looking terribly
worn and abused about now, but still producing food.
I need to get out and harvest before the rain comes.
I need to can up what I am harvesting.
I need another cup of coffee to make it all happen.

Looking for a tomato

well, actually I'm looking for a tomato that will grow in
Denver,Colorado. Preferably an heirloom.
Any suggestions?
My Aunt says she wants to grow an heirloom tomato, and since we grow them here
in an identical climate (yes, the emphasis and sarcasm are all mine)in New Jersey,
she asked us for seed. Normally I encourage one and all to grow something...anything..in their own yard,
but I know she is not going to grow anything. She may however hire someone to do it for her.
Growing is growing, so I will ask...what kind of heirloom tomato will grow in Denver?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Long Over Due Update

I can't believe it has been so long since I updated here.
We have been eating from the garden every day and
canning..green beans, catsup, etc.
The tomatoes are definitely here.
Need to go pick green beans..again.

Weeding,wildlife and food

Is there more to gardening than that?
Weeding found a few more butternut squash babies growing in other places in the garden. They are my favorite squash.
We had a lovely break in all the heat, and then free water fell from
the sky to moisten the garden. And it kept falling for two days....sometimes quite heavily.
I hope free water falls where you need it too.
