Snow Day 2012

We finally got a snow day here in our little corner of the Garden State. It was far too cold outside for me to enjoy playing, so I made donuts and hot apple cider
Farmer Dad took our Princess outside to play while he shoveled the driveway.

We stayed in for the rest of the day, watching movies on Netflix and eating
Croque Monsieur and homemade New England Clam Chowder.

Snuggled under blankets keeping warm, taking turns picking our favorite movies.
How did you spend your snow day? Didn't have snow? How was the weather in your little corner of the world? I must admit, I had a pile of seed catalogs tucked next to me to flip thru as we hung out.
I am excited for spring..big dreams of big changes here..how about you?

Retire Ronald McDonald

I have so much to do today, and so much to blog about, but all that must be
pushed aside to ask for some help today. That's right we need your help.
My friends over at Corporate Accountability International called me last night
asking me to make a phone call. I did. I am asking you to do the same.
If you are concerned with the rising obesity in America's youth (ok all of us)
if it just ticks you off that McDonald's lure our kids in with toys to a possible lifetime
of health issues , call. There is more info here
Retire Ronald and here
Value the Meal.
They were very polite when I called, please behave in kind. ;-)"

To brighten up this dreary day

Little celebrations this past week,
Chinese New Year..
National Chocolate Cake Day

And a favorite quote...

Ralph Waldo Emerson
"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived---this is to have succeeded."

I'll be back soon to post some garden plans..have you decided what you'll grow this year?
