Views of the yard in August

Just some shots from around the yard in August...
the heat has taken it's toll as you can see.

Many types of tomatoes..

Dave has been growing many different types of heirloom tomatoes
organically for a while now, and I will try to list and photograph
each of them in the coming weeks.
Here are some pictures for now

Guess what's ripe in our garden?

Yup, more tomatoes! OK, there were peppers too and green beans
and corn and blackberries and yellow squash and golden zucchini.
I have started canning and we have been enjoying bruschetta and pizza
and tomato sandwiches!

Wisteria is always such an inspiration to me, now
if I could only learn to can like her.....

Tomatoes the ground hog can't reach

If he could have reached them, you would see his teeth marks in them.
He takes a bite out of each one he can reach.....can't he just eat one whole one?
Can't he just climb into the trap we have set? Can't he just go each somewhere else?

Food from the garden

This weekend we made some yellow squash parmigiana
which we served with fresh tomatoes and green beans!
