Things are growing...

Peas, radishes, asparagus, lettuce,chard,mustard greens,
chois,corn,green beans, cukes..all growing.I'm sure the carrots,beets,
and parsnips are as well, I just can't see it. F.D. put up the pea trellis.
We have some chicken wire to discourage the squirrels...seems to work.

The gate is doing it's job so far. No ground hog sightings yet in our yard,
but they are creeping closer in the neighborhood. (I can feel it)
My perennials are popping out all over, and although it has cooled off from
the past week, and it is raining (I love free water!) it is still nice out and spring is here!!
We have flowers on the strawberries, and although the squirrels pulled some out, we re-potted them and are hoping for the best. Our yard has been buzzing with polinators, so we are hopeful we will have a good crop year.

This week

was warm (even hot) and sunny. Today is over cast
with some sprinkles and feeling a bit cooler without the sun.
I planted more strawberries (this time in a hanging basket)
yesterday that I received from a fellow freecycler and
put down some more beet seed. We started flowers and
winter squash for up at the community plot. That should really help
out "lack of space" issues. The trees have really started leafing out and
even the bosc pear F.D. thought dead shows signs of life now.We ate some
delicious asparagus, and have more to harvest today. The beans are waiting to be planted
and some corn that is getting big in the little pots.Lots to do this week as always.
Happy Gardening!

Hardening off

While the swiss chard goes in...

the lettuce and other greens enjoy some late afternoon sun

don't the plum trees look lovely?

The beans, corn and some other seedlings have been hardening off
getting ready for planting.

Doing a little planting...

Lettuce, swiss chard, mustard greens going into the ground.
The asparagus is really coming up now...so are the radishes and peas.
So are some of the perennials.

The Rabbit is Back

Oh my..good thing we have a gate now.

Spring is springing up all over!

It was so nice to be out in the sunshine watching the trees flower..

Farmer Dad worked on cleaning up the beds...

He cleaned up around the compost piles..
his trusty farm hand was more than willing to lend a hand
they planted some more peas
