Happy Birthday to Me

Edited to add B-Day photos....
Yes, it's my Birthday!!! It is a glorious day in the Garden State..blue skies, sunshine, cool enough
to work in the garden, but warm enough to sit and do nothing.
Farmer Dad surprised me with a depression glass pitcher in amber..with
some weird colored flowers in it this morning.
My brother-in-law and his wife and daughter

stopped by for pitcher of bloody marys, they gave me a gorgeous pair of earrings as well and the kids played outside all day except for when
they took a ride to buy my b-day cake with Farmer Dad.I took the time to sit with a favorite book and a cup of tea I have been swamped with love over here, as the e-mails and phone calls keep coming..heaping birthday wishes and love all over me.
I will post pictures soon from today, in the meanwhile..here are some pics from around our little corner of the Garden State from this week....
There is one piece of chocolate cake left...

sitting on his vintage melmac I scored off freecycle....so cheery to me!

What happens when I don't have time to blog

grab a slice of birthday cake and a cup of tea and join me as I stroll
around our little corner of the Garden State to see what's growing and blooming. In the veg patch

for Ange..some succulent asparagus thrusting up out of the ground....

Even the trees are blooming..here is my favorite "borrowed view"

sedum,"Autumn Joy" getting ready to impress

under the cedar trees

hostas poke up from the ground

plants long dormant over the winter spring out of the ground

bulbs put on a good show

Princess uses her new watering can (Thanks to the Easter Bunny)
to water the potted plants

the bushes are getting, well, bushy again.

I will be back tomorrow with more updates, and another bit of our little corner of the Garden State. Thanks for joining me..hope you liked the cake (Princess made it all by herself!)

Radishes,Peas and Beets ...OH MY

First there was a light drizzle, then the rain
became heavy. Then the skies cleared and the sun came out.
Drawing us into the yard to see....
this

looking up you see...

you hear a noise, so you turn and look around.
Was it there?

no....maybe here?

no....was it...
Yes, can we see who that is...
Oh he is lovely.

We turn around to see what's growing...

Don't you just love "free" water?
Plenty more to go in the ground when it's a bit drier...

Tired yet? How about we go sit for a spell?

If we look up we'll see.....

Ahh...isn't life golden?
